Black Forest

Black Forest provides an opportunity to feature your up-and-coming clarinet section.
All clarinets are in unison throughout the piece. The solo emphasizes legato playing, and is voiced entirely in the low register.
The solo part contains mostly scalewise playing with very few “tricks” so should allow your young section to sound impressive without having to work at it forever.
Make sure your young clarinets get a chance to listen to the university-level players on the demo CD. They should try to imitate their tone and style as closely as possible.
