South Bay Blues is a slow rock minor blues, with a suggested speed of 80 bpm.  

The main tune is introduced by the tenor & bari sax/trombone group, then later by the alto sax/trumpet group.  

Saxes have a featured part in the bridge following the solos.  

The 16th note figures in this section look hard at first, but are easily handled at the slow tempo.
