Village Dance
by Brian Appleby

Village Dance gives students an excellent opportunity to try out their cut time reading. It moves along quite quickly, and gives everyone a chance to play important melodic material.

The low brass and woodwind instruments are featured in several spots, but particularly in the extended coda, where they must carry the main tune with good articulation and a big, bold sound.

The upper woodwinds also have a challenging part in the coda when they come in on an obligato type melody in the final chorus.
